Castles and chateaux

Sychrov Castle

The Sychrov Castle, famous for its fairytale like romantic appearance, belongs to our most significant historical monuments. Its park in the English style was used as a model for many arboretums such as Průhonice or Konopiště.

The classical tours of the castle and park are appended by night shows in summer months. Furthermore, you can experience a lot of cultural events (concerts, Christmas markets, the Scottish games …). The interior is also available for holding of conferences and workshops. Moreover, wedding ceremonies are carried out in the castle chapel and ceremonial hall.

Frýdlant Castle and Chateau

Frýdlant Castle stands on a basalt rock right above the river Smědá. During the Thirty-Year War it was owned by Albrecht Wildenstein, who made Frýdlant the centre of his dukedom.

Nowadays, the collections of porcelain, glass, furniture and castle facilities are to be seen in the castle. A rich collection of weapons from the time of Hussies wars until 19th century is equally interesting as the castle picture gallery with the works of Baroque masters or nonesuch set of pipes. The splendorous castle park stretches to the surroundings of the castle.

Lemberk Castle

Lemberk Castle was founded by Havel from the family of Markvart. His wife, Mrs. Zdislava, was canonized (St. Zdislava) in 1995 – one of the castle expositions is devoted to her life and works.

The remains of Baroque decoration can be found in the castle garden – a folly, statues and fountains. There used to be an English park, from which alleys around main communications and under castle pounds have been preserved, under the castle. If you follow one of the marked paths you can eventually get to nearby Jablonné – at its beginning there is a stream of magic water called Zdislava´s well. The legends about secret corridors and hides, which were created thanks to the rich historical underground, inherently belong to the Lemberk Castle.

Grabštejn Castle and Chateau

After the years of army settlement the Grabštejn Castle went through reconstruction. It has become the cultural centre for the general public for its convenient location close to the boundary of Bohemia, Germany and Poland. Various cultural events, festivals and beneficial concerts have been hold there.

The Castle Trosky

The Castle Trosky has been the most famous dominance of the Bohemian Paradise. The remains of the towers in two basalt rocks (smaller called Baba, taller called Panna) have been preserved until present days. Together with the surrounding nature (podtrosecké valley, ponds and a nearby rocky town) it has been the everlasting target of tourists.
