Bohemian Paradise

The Czech Paradise is the name of the region situated on the middle flow of the river Jizera. The whole area of the Czech Paradise is well known for its mixture of various natural beauties and historical monuments (castles, chateaux, folk architecture). The natural children centre Štastná země, available in summer time, offers original programmes with numerous activities and also a wooden castle, a dwarfish village, seesaws, climbing frames or sandy paddy fields with genuine Czech garnets.

The Valley of St. Christopher

The Valley of St. Christopher is a small village situated westward from Liberec in the deep valley of the brook Rokytka in the Ještěd Ridge. In 2005 it was designated a village memorial zone for its number of preserved wooden and half-timbered constructions. The Valley of St. Christopher is most famous for its Bethlehem, currently placed in the local the restaurant At Christopher’s. Moreover, the technical monuments are two railway viaducts situated in Novina and 800 m long tunnel in front of the railway station in Křížany.

The Libverda spa

The Libverda spa, in the northern part of the Jizera Mountains, has become famous for its famous healing spring of the natural acidulous water. What’s more, the effectivity of the spa is increased by surrounding splendorous nature. Nearby restaurant Obří sud, pilgrimage basilica Navštívení Panny Marie in Hejnice and the Jizera Mountains natural reservations belong to popular tourists destinations.

Kořenov

Kořenov lies in the boundary-line of the Jizera Mountains and the Giant Mountains. The unique part of railway line from Tanvald to Harrachov, so-called cog-wheel railway runs through this town. The oldest outlook tower of the Jizera Mountains – Štěpánka stands on the nearby hill Hvězda.

The Czech Oak

The Czech Oak town is situated south of Ještěd. The recent survey by PhDr. Tomáš Edel from the Podještědské Museum in the local chateau has brought a large number of important finding: johannit commendam of St. Zdislava and Havel from Lemberk, a preserved gothic wardrobe with its templet painting, a roman relic cross and a jasper hand-axe from the older stone age.

Žitava

The Žitava town lies in Germany, almost downrightly in the Czech-German-Polish frontier. A narrow gauge railway, famous for its steam trains directed at Oybin and Jonsdorf, goes through the town of Žitava.
